Peerless Grace: Hangzhou National Academy of Fine Arts

6 - 28 March 2010 Taipei

“Hangzhou National Academy of Fine Arts” is one of the most important art schools that promote Western paintings in China, and it is equivalent to an era of art. The academy was founded in 1928, which became today’s “China Academy of Art”. Hangzhou National Academy of Fine Arts represents the origin of “Chinese New Paintings”, where many important figures in Chinese modern art were raised in its educational cradle of Western paintings. Tina Keng Gallery has been a keen promoter for Chinese master painters for the past decades, and its Zao Wou-Ki’s solo exhibition was widely received; to coincide with the 82ndanniversary of “Hangzhou National Academy of Fine Arts” this year, Tina Keng Gallery presents “Peerless Grace - Hangzhou National Academy of Fine Arts” to exhibit works by Lin Fengmian, Wu Da-Yu, Pang Xinqin, Guan Liang, Zao Wou-Ki, Li Chun Shan, Wu Guanzhong, Chu Teh-Chun, Chao Chun-Hsiang, Shiy De Jinn. We believe that these crucial figures in modern paintings and the glorious era of Hangzhou National Academy of Fine Arts will soon again attract discussions and responses.
