Tina Keng Gallery is pleased to announce that artist Su Xiaobai’s presentation at Art Basel Hong Kong 2026 has been met with widespread critical acclaim. Not only did the works garner significant attention and favor from major Asian collectors, but the entire exhibition also achieved a complete sell-out during the fair, marking the best performance in Tina Keng Gallery’s thirteen-year history of participating in Art Basel Hong Kong. This remarkable result once again affirms Su Xiaobai’s profound influence in both the Asian and international art markets in recent years, reflecting the continuously expanding academic and collectible value of his work within the contemporary art discourse.
As a leading figure in contemporary Chinese abstract art, Su Xiaobai has for many years pushed the spiritual essence of Eastern media and the material exploration of contemporary painting to new heights through his unique lacquer language. Building on the strong momentum from Art Basel Hong Kong, Su Xiaobai will welcome two highly anticipated major international exhibitions this summer. The first is the official collateral event of the 61st Venice Biennale, "Su Xiaobai’s Alchemical Universe." Presented jointly by the Su Xiaobai Foundation and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA), the exhibition will run from May 9 to November 22, 2026, at the historic Palazzo Soranzo Van Axel in Venice. It is curated by Stephen Little, LACMA’s Florence and Harry Sloan Curator of Chinese Art and Department Head of Chinese, Korean, South, and Southeast Asian Art, with exhibition design by architect Kulapat Yantrasast (WHY Architecture).
Furthermore, Su Xiaobai will make a grand appearance at the Tina Keng Gallery booth at Art Basel in Basel in June 2026, continuing to showcase his creative energy on one of the world's most important art platforms. Following these consecutive appearances across three major international art stages—Hong Kong, Venice, and Basel—Su Xiaobai will undoubtedly become one of the most watched Asian artists in the global art landscape of 2026.
Tina Keng Gallery has long been committed to promoting the development of Asian modern and contemporary art on the international stage. Through exhibitions, research, and international exchange across diverse venues such as museums, biennials, and international art fairs, the gallery continues to cultivate an art landscape that possesses both cultural depth and a contemporary vision. Su Xiaobai’s record-breaking sales performance at Art Basel Hong Kong not only sets an exhilarating stage for Tina Keng Gallery in 2026 but also heralds the far-reaching and profound impact of his upcoming landmark exhibitions in Venice and Basel.
