Involving: Earthstone Chu Solo Exhibition

9 August - 8 September 2008

“All things are my materials, the acts of assembling materials are my brushstrokes and the space is my canvas. As the executor of the brushstrokes, I am just a deliverer and a guider for visitors in the time and space,” said Earthstone Chu.

He combines various materials with a mood between the intended and unintended; he makes various appearances echoing the concept “Involving and wandering”in the universe and life. His artworks can be played, moved and changed in the space. He shows physical space, then the spiritual space. The space subtle is the remaining white, as well as a reflection field. The viewer would enter the world of the remaining white to develop and play limitlessly via these complicated bridges.

“Involving and wandering of energy” expresses Chu’s concept of art. His creation had been built on the metaphysics of Tao with which he has experienced and proved in his daily life. The spirit and appearances of his art is not only far away from theliterati, but also totally different from Western contemporary art. He has created a modern value, which belongs to neithertheancient nor Western.
