Tony Wong: Tony Wong Solo Exhibition

4 October - 11 November 2008

"Art comes from the mind and feelings, is extremely individual and has many mysterious parts."

  —Tony Wong

In his sculptures and paintings, Tony Wong uses both western and Chinese myths, legends and allegories and then adds his own imagery. Through analysis, metamorphosis and refinement, his consciousness becomes the creative language of his artwork. This is a technique of casually expressing both simple and complex metaphors or allusions, and presenting the various spiritual conditions, plights, hopes and desires of people living in modern times. In both his two or three dimensional works, the spirit expressed is identical; there are no references to specific times or places and there is a close and indissoluble relationship between the work itself and the artist's rich brushwork.
