Yun Gee: Yun Gee Solo Exhibition
In April 2002, Lin & Keng Gallery presented a solo exhibition of Yun Gee, focusing on his artistic production across his periods in San Francisco, Paris, and New York. The exhibition explored Yun Gee’s study and development of the formal language of Western modernist and avant-garde painting.
From the “Diamondism” of his San Francisco period, characterized by chromatic harmonies and geometric compositions of color blocks, to the linear brushwork and planar structures of his Paris period, and finally to the swirling, linear forms influenced by Futurism that emerged in his New York period, Yun Gee gradually developed a distinctive language of modern painting. Across these transformations, his work also reflects his sustained exploration of the synthesis of visual languages and stylistic elements from both Chinese and Western art.
Yun Gee was presented at Lin & Keng Gallery from April 13 to May 5, 2002.
