Regarded as one of the most valuable exhibitions in the history of Chinese art galleries, this exhibition brought together works with a total value exceeding NT$2 billion. It was also the most comprehensive presentation of Zao Wou-Ki’s work in Taiwan since the Zao Wou-Ki Retrospective at the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts in 1996.
The publication brings together oil paintings and ink works created between the 1950s and 2003, offering a comprehensive survey of Zao Wou-Ki’s artistic development over more than five decades. Featuring seminal works from each period of his career, the volume traces the evolution of his artistic vocabulary and presents the richness and diversity of his practice across half a century.
